Soft Gel Tips Application Technique
To achieve professional results and satisfy your clients, follow these steps to apply Gelish Soft Gel Tips. There are two main stages: preparing the nails and tips and applying the tips and color. Here are the steps for each stage:
Nail & Tip Preparation
Step 1
Prepare the client’s nails by sanitizing their hands and nails, pushing back the cuticles and cleaning the surrounding nail plate. Use a preferred nail file, ideally the 240/240 thin Wooden File, to shape the nails gently. Remove the shine using the 100/180 Buffer.
Step 2
Cleanse the nails with Gelish Nail Surface Cleanse and a Gelish Wipe It Off Lint-free Nail Wipe. Apply a thin layer of Gelish pH Bond Nail Prep to the nail plate.
Step 3
Select the Gelish Soft Gel Tips that fit the nail grooves completely. Apply medium pressure over the nail while sizing the tip for an accurate fit. Do this for all 10 nails before proceeding to the next step.
Step 4
Use a wooden dowel to etch the underside of the tip. Apply Gelish Tip Primer to both the underside of the Soft Gel Tip and the natural nails.
Tip Application & Color
Step 5
Start by applying a generous amount of Gelish Soft Gel Tip Adhesive to the contact area (underside) of the Soft Gel Tip. Place the tip onto the nail using a rolling motion, starting from the cuticle area and moving towards the free edge. Apply firm and constant pressure to ensure the nail grooves are fully covered.
Step 6
Flash cure for 5 seconds with the desired light, (refer to the cure chart for exact times), holding the tip in place. Repeat steps 4 – 5 for all nails and cure all nails.

Removal Process and Steps
Step 1
Cut down the length of the nail and then, break the top seal by gently roughing the surface with the 100/180 Grit Buffer and remove the shine. This will help to loosen the bond between the tip and the natural nail.
Step 2
Saturate a Gelish Wrap It Off foil wrap with Gelish Artificial Nail Remover. Place the wrap onto the nail and make sure it covers the entire tip and then soak the nail for 15 minutes. The remover will dissolve the tip and the adhesive.
Step 3
Remove the foil and gently remove any remaining gel with a cuticle pusher or an orange wood stick. If there is still some gel left, continue to soak the nail until it comes off wieasily and do not force or peel off the gel, as this can damage the natural nail.
Step 4
Lightly buff the nail surface with the 200/280 Grit Buffer to smooth out any rough edges. After that massage Nourish Cuticle Oil into the skin surrounding the nail plate to hydrate and nourish the nails and cuticles.
