FAQ
What is the benefit of Foundation Flex?
Nail foundation, in general, gives extra gloss and glamor and covers flaws and imperfections of nails. Gelish Foundation Flex has extra benefits like flexible protection, and you can barely feel it sitting on your nails.
How long does Foundation Flex last?
The soak-off gel polish foundation will last until you remove it yourself. It doesn’t peel, chip, or fade. It will provide up to 21 days of lasting color.
Does Foundation Flex cause any chemical damage to the natural nail?
No, this system uses only a PH balancing agent to accommodate the required moisture level of the nail. Then the Gelish Foundation Gel has viscous properties that attract the keratin in the natural nail, acting as a two-sided tape to adhere the Gelish Soak-Off Gel Polish to the nail itself.
How often shall you clean the Foundation Flex brush?
To ensure that your brush will last longer, you should clean it every time it has been used.
How can you clean the brush?
Put the brush into PolyGel Brand Synthetic Brush. Wipe off overdid liquid from the bristles. For better application, put the brush with PolyGel Brand Slip Solution. Wipe the bristles dry with a lint-free nail wipe.
Does Foundation Flex have a smell?
Yes, there’s a light smell of rubber mixed with the regular gel polish smell.
What is the best LED lamp to use with Foundation Flex?
One of Gelish’s best-selling lamps is the Touch LED; it’s flexible and can finish a full set of nails in less than 20 minutes.
Gelish Foundation Flex functions as your second skin for nails adding light volume which works as protection that you can barely feel. This product literally replaces any base coat out there. Good job Gelish.
Foundation Flex is similar to the structure gel; the only difference is that the soak-off formula feels like rubber after curing. The good news is we can use this product as a foundation for any gel polish and nail lacquer, even if it’s not made by Gelish.
Yes 100% right, to add a little more, it’s practical for anyone looking to strengthen their natural nails. The Rubber Base Technology that has earned it a patent seems like it would be especially helpful in preventing breaks and snaps, and the fact that it can be used with both gel polish and regular nail polish makes it even more versatile.
Can (or should) you use a thin coat of REGULAR Foundation, followed by Foundation Flex or should you only use ONE coat of Foundation?
*Can you ALSO use STRUCTURE Clear if you use a thin coat of Foundation Flex? If so, would you use Structure Clear right after Foundation Flex? Thanks!
You should only use one base coat—either the original Foundation or Foundation Flex, not both. Foundation Flex is designed to replace the original Foundation and already provides strong adhesion along with added flexibility and nail-perfecting benefits, so layering them isn’t necessary and could interfere with proper curing. If you want to add extra strength or structure, you can apply Structure Clear after curing Foundation Flex. Just make sure each layer is cured properly before moving on to color or top coat. This combo works well for reinforcing natural nails while keeping the application smooth and durable.
Foundation Flex really wasn’t for me, but for my daughter, who’s a nail polish girl. It’s the second time she ordered it, so it means she is happy with its results.
Listen up, fellow nail techs! If you’re not already using Gelish Foundation Flex in your salon, you need to get on board ASAP. This liquid base is like the glue that holds your gel manicures together. It creates a flexible basis for your gel polish and helps to prevent chipping and peeling. Trust me, your clients will thank you for using this stuff. It’s like the difference between a house built on a solid base and one built on quicksand.
Thank you for the recommendation, it’s also great to see that Foundation Flex is vegan and free of harsh chemicals in the US, and that it includes ingredients like Vitamin A and Biotin to nourish the nails. I’ll definitely have to consider giving this a try!
I’m always breaking my nails left and right, so the idea of a rubberized gel system that virtually cocoons them – all this time I’ve been trying to strengthen my nails with superglue and duct tape. Little did I know, all I needed was a vegan, harsh-free, vitamin-packed base coat! Gelish, you are a genius. I’ll never go back to my makeshift methods again.
It’s a liquid and powder system used to create a flexible foundation for Gelish gel polish and it is not specifically marketed as being safe for people with latex allergies and it is not clear if it contains any ingredients that would cause a reaction in someone with a latex allergy. If you have a latex allergy, I think it would be best to consult with a dermatologist or a licensed professional before using this product.
My client’s nails start to curl in as it grows. We’ve used structure gel, hard gel, dip powder, and just gel polish, but we’re still having the issue of it lifting when it starts to curl. Does this bend to their nails or will it just lift?
It’s important to assess the client’s nail health and determine if the curling is a result of any underlying medical conditions or simply a natural nail shape. If there are no medical concerns, you may want to try different nail techniques and products to find the best solution for your client.
It’s also important to communicate with your client about the issue and discuss their expectations and preferences for nail care. You may need to adjust your application technique or suggest a different maintenance routine to help prevent lifting and promote healthier nail growth.
